In a stunning move yesterday while giving his speech in Poland regarding the war in Ukraine Joe Biden called for Putin to be removed from power. “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power” Biden remarked pulling the United States history of empowering regime changes across the globe to center stage.
Since WWII the US has financed and promoted regime changes on almost every continent. From toppling puppet governments of the Nazi regime to funding protest and revolts in Hong Kong not even two years ago. Almost every single change in political power in under-developed countries has had US influence in some form or fashion.
The main reason for all of this involvement was “insuring the spread of democracy” which translates to the need for resources or strategic geography said country possessed with the hope that whatever leader ended up in charge would bend to US influence. Our leaders have a history of pumping whatever propaganda they need into the political sphere to back up this claim. Such as the infamous WMD claim from the Bush administration or the Gulf of Tonkin incident from the Johnson administration that lead to our involvement in Vietnam.
Now we have a commander in chief who off the cuff is calling for another exchange of power in a foreign nation, only this time it’s a nuclear power and he’s stating it publicly. The White House in a panic tried to walk back this statement but the Kremlin already responded as reported by Reuters with “that’s not for Biden to decide. The president of Russia is elected by Russians.”
I’m old enough to remember when Hillary Clinton laughed at the news of Gaddafi’s capture. “We came, we saw, he died,” as she chuckled in her interview after just being handed the phone showing the alleged news.
If you don’t think Putin is watching that footage and already understanding what American government has planned for him you haven’t been paying attention. A war with Russia is coming, the only question is when.
NATO nations are already voting on peacekeeping missions into Ukraine. Biden let it slip with another highlight reel worthy gaffe to American soldiers yesterday when talking about Ukraine with “what you’ll be seeing when you’re there.” It’s already in his head that we’ll be boots on the ground or that wouldn’t have left his mouth. The time for talking is done, from the moment the first tanks rolled across the Ukrainian border the world went to war.
Sadly this is a war of our own making. Our regime change history includes the country of Ukraine with Zelenskyy being the product. We then pushed for Ukraine to become a NATO ally and created a direct threat to Russia. Now the rest of the pieces are just falling into place. Biden and the hawks in Washington want their war and they will get it one way or another. The only thing we can do is be prepared for the fallout be it economically or socially and have faith that this too will pass.
Isaiah 41:10 - Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
